Mark De-Lisser hosts a special celebration of inspiring gospel worship from the iconic Union Chapel in north London. Union Chapel is a renowned live music venue that regularly hosts artists from across the world, but first and foremost, it is an active Congregational Church which has served its local community for over 200 years. For this special programme, its roof is raised by the joyful sound of gospel music. The worship is led by the superb Sound Foundation choir under the baton of Lascelles Haughton and backed by a live band. Special guests are renowned gospel vocalists Michelle John and Wayne Ellington. Michelle John was first spotted by a music industry professional when she appeared as a teenager on Songs of Praise, singing with her Pentecostal church choir in 1990. She went on to sing with the likes of Madonna and George Michael before recently returning to her gospel roots with her latest album. Wayne Ellington has been a key figure in the gospel community for decades, and when he's not singing as a soloist, he leads the acclaimed choir, Manchester Inspirational Voices. With music sure to get toes tapping, hands clapping and spirits lifted, including gospel favourites old and new and fresh arrangements of beloved hymns. 1.
